At the end of 2021, interior designer David Tchuyang visited this apartment and was immediately captivated, particularly by its breathtaking view of Le Dôme des Invalides. At the time, the space was a poorly laid-out one-bedroom unit that lacked functionality and coherence. David's first step was to reimagine the layout to transform the apartment into a functional two-bedroom space. He dedicated significant time to perfecting the arrangement, ensuring it met both practical and aesthetic standards. Once the ideal layout was finalized, the project advanced seamlessly.
Approaching the design as if he were planning to live in the space himself, David prioritized three core principles: beauty, comfort, and functionality. Known for his exceptional ability to maximize every square meter, he skillfully integrated numerous features into the compact space without creating a sense of overcrowding. Attention to detail was paramount throughout the project, from door handles and kitchen organization to the selection of color palettes for cushions. Each element was meticulously curated to ensure cohesion and a sense of refinement.
Upon completion, the apartment exceeded all expectations, with the realized vision reflecting months of careful planning. Standout features included the old exposed-beam ceilings, the thoughtfully designed kitchen, the master bedroom with its stunning view of Le Dôme des Invalides, and the expertly planned lighting. David expressed pride in delivering the pied-à-terre that his clients, David Katz and Deborah Singer, had been searching for. Reflecting on their experience, the clients shared that after visiting numerous properties, this apartment immediately stood out, prompting them to purchase it on the spot.
The result is a turnkey apartment, perfectly tailored for enjoying the beauty and lifestyle of Paris. David’s thoughtful design ensures a harmonious blend of elegance, functionality, and comfort, making it an ideal retreat in the heart of the city.
