Emma’s clients, Lisi and Rob, were looking for an interior designer to help make their new apartment in Paris match their dreams for the property. They had seen another project done by David Tchuyang, and he had also designed a property purchased by other clients. David’s projects usually entail a full renovation as well as interior design, but in this case the renovation had already been completed. Nevertheless he was persuaded to take on the project. Before making any commitments, David visited the property and discovered a stunning apartment with high ceilings and an exceptional view of the French Prime Minister’s garden. The property had immense potential but required thoughtful decoration and a reimagined layout to highlight functional areas effectively. The project began with a Zoom meeting with Lisi and Rob to discuss their priorities. Two key objectives were highlighted: positioning the living room to capitalize on the breathtaking balcony view and creating a spacious TV area that could comfortably accommodate six people. Additional suggestions included reconfiguring the entrance to form a corridor that separated the third bathroom from the entryway and distinguishing the private "night" zones from the living area, all while preserving the open, airy flow of the space.

Lisi shared her vision and inspiration through photos and expressed her desire to feel as if she were living in a treehouse. This statement became the foundation of the design concept, leading to the integration of natural elements and an autumn-inspired color palette. A signature wallpaper from Little Greene was chosen as a focal feature, complemented by the use of natural materials. Extensive custom joinery and carefully curated lighting further enhanced the apartment's functionality and atmosphere.

The project was completed within the agreed-upon timeline, with every detail meticulously managed to ensure a seamless experience. On the reveal day, the apartment was fully furnished and equipped, ready for Lisi and Rob’s stay in Paris. Their reaction was one of visible happiness and delight, a testament to the success of the transformation. Despite not seeing much of the progress beforehand, their trust was rewarded with a space that exceeded expectations.
